TALKS: Fabel Arkitektur

TALKS about Architecture is an international lecture platform for architects. Since 2013, architects working outside the Netherlands have been invited to Rotterdam to discuss architecture, their practice, and its relationship to society.

The lecture series are organized in collaboration with AIR and curated by a program committee consisting of Robert-Jan de Kort, Justin Agyin, Sofie van Brunschot, Max Hart Nibbrig, and Philip de Klerk.

Fabel Arkitektur is an architecture studio founded by Sofie Campanello and Catharina Dahl Palmér. Fabel enjoys using traditional wooden techniques and constantly explores how they can be applied in modern architecture. With roots in the forests of Småland, the office works closely with nature and has a special focus on wood.

Their work cares for materials and details, giving great importance to the building's connection to its surroundings, history, and location. Fabel works with both private and public buildings and is also involved in teaching at architecture and design schools.

The studio frequently participates in publications and exhibitions, and in 2024, it was awarded the Residence Stora Designpris - Architect of the Year, alongside nominations for the Kasper Salin Award, Träpriset, and Young Swedish Architecture.
